Join Adventure for this trip of a lifetime as will backpack 50+ miles through Yosemite National Park starting at Smith Peak Trailhead near Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and finishing 6 days and 55 miles later in Yosemite Valley. Along the way we will enjoy some of the most beautiful vistas in the world. Our journey takes us along the mighty Tuolumne River to Tuolumne Meadows. After resupplying we head down into the valley along the John Muir trail and attempt to summit the most iconic rock in Yosemite, Half Dome. This is a sojourn that would make John Muir proud.

4 - Epic
Day 1: We meet at the SRWC load the van and head north to Yo So Mighty! We will stop for lunch on the way and check in to the Hetch Hetchy backpacker’s Campground before dark. We will prepare dinner and get a good night’s sleep.
Day 2: Our trek begins! We start at Smith Peak Trailhead and travel uphill 11 miles to Morrison Creek for our first night in the wilderness.
Day 3: Today we cross the mighty Tuolumne River at Pate Valley and travel up river about 12 miles to Return Creek.
Day 4: Today we pass the halfway point of our sojourn. We will be treated to waterfalls and breathtaking meadows. After 9 miles we will arrive at Tuolumne Meadows backpacker’s campground and set up camp. We will have an early dinner at the Tuolumne Meadows Grill and resupply at the store for the rest of our trip.
Day 5: We pack up, have a complete breakfast, and return to the wilderness! This will be our easiest day so far with only 8 miles to travel and not that much elevation gain. We will spend the night near Sunrise Lakes.
Day 6: Today will for sure be one of the highlights of our trip as we attempt to summit Half Dome! It will be about 9 miles to the top of Half Dome and then 3 more miles to Little Yosemite Valley where we will sleep for the night.
Day 7: We will leave the backcountry today after a 3.5 mile hike past Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls. We should reach the valley by lunch time and on the way home by 2pm.
17 meals are included, starting with dinner on day 1 (6 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and 5 dinners)
3 meals are not included (1 lunch and 2 dinners). Bring money.
Hygiene and Comfort
We will be carrying our all our food, shelter, clothing, water and equipment in a pack weighting over 40lbs. We will be staying in a backpacker's campsite on night 1 and 4 with access to restrooms and drinking water. There are NO showers. The other nights will we sleeping in the wilderness and treating water to drink from streams and lakes. We will follow Leave No Trace ethics and pack out all trash and dispose of human waste in catholes or WAG bags, You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars. Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft or hard soil.
