Bio

Dr. Vipin Gupta (Ph.D., Wharton School; www.vipingupta.net) is a Professor of Management, and Co-director of the Center for Global Management, at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, of California State University San Bernardino.   He has been an advocate and champion of global mindset and exchanges throughout his career.   He launched Business Opportunities in India project for faculty exchanges while at Fordham (1997-2003), organized variety of international events while at Grand Valley State University (2003-2005) and served as the Director of international outreach at Simmons School of Management (2005-2010) as Ros Jaffe Chair in Strategy.  He served as the Associate Dean for the Jack H. Brown College during 2013-2017.

As Scholar.  Professor Gupta has published thirty influential books, including the co-edited GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness Program) book “Culture, Leadership and Organizations – The GLOBE Study of 62 societies” (Sage Publications, 2004), eleven books on regional models of family business under CASE (Culturally-sensitive Assessment Systems and Education) Project, and twelve self-authored books in 2021-2022 under the project Vastly Integrated Processes Inside Nature,” on the metaphysics of everything, everybody, and everyone.   He has been featured as the Businessman in the News by Business India.   His work has been carried out by many regional and international print and online media.   Dr. Gupta has authored more than 250 journal articles and book chapters, including in leading journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Family Business Review, Research in Organizational Behavior, Asia-Pacific Journal of Management, Multinational Business Review, Journal of World Business, Advances in Global Leadership, and Management Review.  Professor Gupta has been a recipient of the coveted 2005 Scott Myers Award for Applied Research in the Workplace from Society for Industrial Organization Psychologists, USA.  Here is his google citation page: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=eWbQhqcAAAAJ&hl

As Speaker.  Dr. Gupta has been an invited, keynote, or conference speaker in nearly seventy nations, including at the Academy of Management, IFSAM, EGOS, Society of Industrial Organization Psychologists, Global Entrepreneurship Conference, and Family Enterprise Research Conference.  He has been on the governing board and organizing committee of several international conferences.   In 2017, he served as the academic program chair for the 52nd CLADEA Assembly.  He has been a visiting or guest faculty at more than forty business schools in India and served on the board of governors of many.  He was a Government of India’s Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) Visiting Professor at Central University of Rajasthan (2016), sharing state-of-the-art, interactive, and technology-supported pedagogical approaches with the faculty of the university.

As Student.  Dr. Gupta earned a gold medal for outstanding scholastic performance in the Post Graduate Program of the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (1990) and a top rank holder in the B. Com. (Hons) Program of the Delhi University from Sri Ram College of Commerce (1988).   He has been a Japan Foundation fellow for a highly prestigious best dissertation proposal on Japan award (1994-95), a research scholar at the University of Tokyo - Japan (1994-95), a finalist in the worldwide United Nations competition on the Cultural Origins of Variations in Development (1995), and a Government of India National Talent Search Scholar (1984-90).
