Bio

Prize Winner of the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition and recipient of the National Excellence Award for Young Artistic Talents in Taiwan, and the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research, Dr. Huang has performed as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician in Austria, France, Germany, Japan, US, and native Taiwan. Dr. Huang is a sought-after masterclass clinician and adjudicator for festivals and competitions, she frequently serves on the judging panel for MTAC, MTNA, SCJBF, and SYMF. Her students are laureates at the regional and national piano competitions, SYMF, SCJBF, Glendale Piano Competition, Satori Young Pianist Contest, American Protégé Competition. As a collaborative artist, Dr. Huang has performed with musicians from the LA Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, Redlands Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as well as with faculty from Colburn School, USC, Arizona State University, University of Colorado-Boulder, Indiana University, and Chinese Culture University Taiwan. She also performed concerts with solo recitalists Christine Jennings, Cory Cerovcek, Ittai Shapira, Jeffrey Noel Lastrapes, Wendy Law, Maksim Velichkin, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, and soprano Maria Jetta, among others.

A fervent advocate for chamber music, Wen-Ting joined the Felici Trio, ensemble-in-residence in Mammoth Lakes, and co-directed the Mammoth Lakes Festival for three seasons. The ensemble toured in California and appeared in music festivals and concert series in Seattle and  Texas.  Wen-Ting received her BM and MM in piano performance from Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, in Vienna, Austria with a minor in musicology at Universität Wien. She received her doctoral degree in piano performance from Indiana University Bloomington, mentored by the Distinguished Professor and pianist of the legendary Beaux Arts Trio, Menahem Pressler. Dr. Huang directs the piano ensemble and piano collaborative program at CSUSB and serves as a piano faculty at Pasadena City College, as well as chairs the Inland Empire branch with Junior Chamber Music.
